National Black Pulic Relations Society Host
Conversation on Crisis Communications During Hurricane Katrina
The Black Public
Relations Society of Detroit hosts, When The Levees Broke: A Conversation with Rodrick
Hawkins. Hawkins, currently the
communications director for the Chicago Urban League formerly served as the
deputy press secretary to Governor Kathleen Blanco during Hurricanes Katrina
and Rita.
Roderick will share his
experiences in crisis communications and media relations in one of the nation’s
largest natural disasters in recent history. The compounding issues of race,

Foxworth III, author and media
